Nov/Dec Class Schedule Updates:

• NEW CLASS ALERT: you’ve asked for earlier time-slot options for advanced students and we hear you! Starting in January, we’re putting another Level 3 (advanced) class in the schedule on Mondays 6:30-7:45 with Gil.

• NEW CLASS ALERT! Floor LAB is on Tuesdays 7:00-8:00pm. It’s an all-levels floorwork class with rotating instructor. It’s a Lab, which is a new kind of collaborative learning space that we want to start up at O-Pole, if you have a cool floorwork combo, choreo, or trick that you want to share in lab, submit your class idea with THIS FORM. Gil will work with you to prep your lab, and then you’ll lead the class (gil will still be there to assist/supervise). When there’s not a guest instructor or a student-led class going on, Gil will be teaching it as a floorwork fundamentals class.

• NEW CLASS/EVENT ALERT! Starting this Friday 1/2, we are hosting 3 FIRST FRIDAY FREESTYLE jams on Jan 2nd, Feb, 6th, and March 6th. This is a chill performance opportunity, think of it as Open-Mic for pole dance. There are 10 class slots available for participating but feel free to come by to cheer on your classmates even if you’re not signed up.

• NEW TIME SLOT Musicality, Embodiment, and Presence with Briana is now on Thursdays 6:30-7:45pm

• NEW TIME SLOT: Level 1/2 choreography with Fox is now on Thursdays 8:00-9:15pm

• NEW TIME SLOT: Open Pole on Thursdays is now 5:00-6:15pm

How do I change plans?

If you are currently on a Month-to-Month Unlimited, and you are looking to switch to a 6-month or 12-month plan, keep an eye on your email: all current members will be prompted to select the plan that works for them. NEW CLASS TYPE/EVENT: FIRST FRIDAYS FREESTLE JAM

Starting this Friday 1/2, we are hosting 3 FIRST FRIDAY FREESTYLE jams on Jan 2nd, Feb, 6th (VALENTINES EDITION), and March 6th. 8:15-9:30pm

There are 10 class slots available for participating but feel free to come by to cheer on your classmates even if you’re not signed up.

These 3 nights are once a month on the 1st Friday of each month. It's a chill, low-stakes performance & community night, think of it as Open-Mic for pole dance. We'll get some fancy lights & backdrop, and I'll get some quality video of you (if desired). You can choose to dance in heels, with kneepads, barefoot, up the pole, floorwork, whatever you prefer and would like to share. Your choice of chrome or brass pole (the poles at the front of the room under the sign will be blocked off as performance poles).

Song choices: If you have a song you KNOW you want to dance to you can choose your song, however, in the spirit of freestyle the default song selection will be you selecting an ADJECTIVE, and then I'll choose a song based on your adjective so that it's a true freestyle.

This class is priced as an open pole, use your unlimited membership or use an open pole punch.

NEW CLASS TYPE: FLOOR-LAB

Tuesdays 7:00-8:00 pm

Floor LAB is a floorwork class/collaborative space (all-levels)

This space is open to student led classes so that dancers can bring their trick/choreography/combo/concept to LAB! This is a casual and open student-teaching vibe where we are collaborating and learning movement from each other.

Gil will regularly staff the class, most nights it will be foundational floorwork: focus is learning across-to-floor movement and good technique throughout foundational poses and transitions like table-top/fan-kick, leg-work sequences, rolls, and shoulder stands).

If you are interested in bringing your trick/choreography/combo/concept to LAB and leading a class- reach out and let Gil know! WORKSHOP ALERT: Magic in the Mundane - Foundations of Acrochair

Magic in the Mundane - Foundations of Acrochair

Class Description: This all-levels acrochair workshop is geared to teach you the foundations of acrochair by learning a few different shapes with transitions between them, and how to experiment with new mediums and provoke creativity in movement. We will begin with a warm-up to become familiar with our bodies in relation to the chair, followed by an overview of some foundational acrochair shapes, and conclude with a choreography to bring it all together. Pre-reqs: No experience necessary, all levels welcome! Knee pads are encouraged and heels are optional. Come with a layer that covers your hips (leggings, spandex, shorts, sweats, etc). Instructor bio: Hope Alejandra (she/they) has been practicing aerial arts through different mediums for 6 years. A fan of traditional showgirl burlesque, a primary focus of her dance practice is to evoke fascination in every day mundane objects by creating sensual appeal through coyness, abstract movement, and creative object orientation. This acrochair workshop will teach you how to create magic in the mundane and elevate your aerial or burlesque practice to the next level.

Two-Hour Rhinestone Pasties Workshop with Kali Duality Join Kali Duality, Bellingham-based costume artist and performer, for a hands on two-hour workshop focused on designing and constructing your own rhinestone pasties. This class is perfect for burlesque performers, dancers, drag artists, costume makers, and anyone curious about creating durable and beautiful rhinestone pasties. Kali Duality has been creating custom rhinestone pasties for performers throughout Bellingham, selling made-to-order designs on Etsy, and sharing her work with performers and creators across TikTok & Instagram. Her background in costume creation and performance informs a practical, performer-centered approach that balances durability, comfort, and stage impact. What You’ll Learn:

• How to prepare and work with pastie base materials. She shares her favorite material as a base for creating a solid and sparkling base

• Rhinestone placement techniques for clean, professional results

• Tips for symmetry, design planning, and durability for performance

• How to apply and clean pasties to ensure durability and so that you’ll have your pasties for years to come

You’ll leave with a finished (or nearly finished) pair of rhinestone pasties and the confidence to continue creating your own designs.

What’s Included? Kali will provide:

• Pastie base materials

• Hot glue guns (several available)

• Hot glue (as much as possible)

• Glue for rhinestone application

• Rhinestone wax pen tools

• Heat guns (limited number available)

What to Bring?

• Your desired color of rhinestones (variety encouraged—sizes, colors, shapes)

• A hot glue gun, if you have one (helpful but not required)

• A heat gun, if you own one (again helpful if you have one, not required) but only rhinestones are required to bring—everything else will be supplied as much as possible.

Skill Level: No prior experience required. This workshop is beginner-friendly while still offering valuable techniques for experienced performers and makers.

SPRING SHOWCASE: APRIL 18th! Mark your calendars…

Start thinking up routine-ideas and break out the rhinestones! Studio Showcases are open to any O-Pole members with an active membership or punch-card, act selection is 1st-come, 1st served, although this year we are considering opening up for performance slots and doing 2 shows, a 6pm and a 9pm.

O-Pole Now has a scholarship program that offers free classes to Strpprs and Sw’rs in the local community! This program is by donation, so if you want to show some love to strpprs and sw’rs in the O-Pole community, consider donating a class or attending studio events that donate proceeds to the fund!
